Celebrated author and Canadian activist Maude Barlow - recently appointed as the United Nations' First Senior Advisor on Water Issues - on talks about the main points of her new book, BLUE COVENANT: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water. Barlow is co-founder of the Blue Planet Project, a group that works to protect fresh water from trade and privatization around the world. Chair of the citizens' advocacy group Council of Canadians, Maude has been appointed as the United Nation's first senior adviser on water issues, a role she hopes to use to establish water as a human right.
