In March of 1999 a 104ft cell phone tower was erected in our Chico, Ca residential neighborhood. At the time the tower was within the county limits but only 100 feet from a residential neighborhood within the city limits.

For the past two years we have been involved with Butte County and the City of Chico to develop ordinances to address the proliferation of wireless telecommunication facilities in our community. We fought a long and hard battle with the County and were eventually rewarded with a strong county ordinance.

The city has been another issue. Although attempts to educate the planning commission and the city council were made by submitting pages of written documentation regarding the subject, the city remained ignorant on the issue. They were told by attorneys for the city and the industry that the science was junk and that the Telecomunications Act of 1996 took away

their right to deny permits.

We were beside ourselves with frustration and our lack of ability to educate them. It was at this time that we decided to show the film, Public Exposure: DNA, Democracy, and the Wireless Revolution to the planning commission and the city council.

To our amazement and surprise the city council last week voted to amend the draft ordinance to reflect most all the changes we had suggested making and more.

The message was loud and clear to the industry. You will only do business in our community on our terms!

We attribute this abrupt change in perception to this well done film and are so thankful it was available to us. Because of this film, our city council was empowered to make the right decision for our community...

PUBLIC EXPOSURE.......!!!! a REALLY OUTSTANDING video film

This is an excellent "teaching aid" for you to use with ANY group (or just with your friends and neighbors) to help them understand the EMF saga...... This film confines itself to the RFR (radio/microwave or cell phone aspect) -- but -- it is so well done -- that it has universal application to the whole EMF story..... There is a passage in the film (of an interview with Dr. Jerry Phillips about his experience with
Motorola) which ought to become one of the classics of the history of this subject.

PUBLIC EXPOSURE says something really important about the way the vested industries have routinely interfered with science (research) on this issue......!!!.
