EON has recently produced the 36 nationally and internationally used TV, DVD, on-line and print products you see displayed in the side boxes. We hope you agree with us that it is an impressive track record of supplying broadcast TV programs, video weblogs, our popular news listserves, and useful media tools to activist movements at minimal cost.

Thanks to our generous supporters (see below) we have accomplished this with a combination of donor project funding, increasing product sales, and our personal finances.

Independent, progressive media workers are everywhere underfunded, and our internet access rights are under unremitting attack by corporate media strategists. EON is part of the grassroots media activist movement and we, like many of our colleagues, are in a mid-summer cashflow crunch. We need your help to continue.

The EON Approach - Key Acupressure Points in the Body Politic

We chose key acupressure points in the body politic for our main focus: Election Integrity, Clean Energy Options and Radiation Safety. We see that solutions for our challenges exist but that the democratic space for implementing the solutions is shrinking fast. Therefore, we document and support progress in all of these issues by focusing on the people's movement to ensure what we and others are calling 'deep democracy.'

Deep democracy is a quest to move beyond superficial, facade democracy based merely on voting for elite-chosen candidates (a system which itself is threatened by widespread fraud.) This planet-wide movement is a grassroots drive for an evolutionary deepening of democratic institutions in this period of global crises, clashing cultures, shared environment and globalized political economy.

It is both the honoring and re-adoption of proven indigenous decision-making methods, and the invention of new institutions and processes that move us beyond the dominant global culture of competition, violence and short-term profit to a culture of cooperation, peace and long-term viability.

After over three and a half years of partnering with leading organizations in the U.S. election integrity movement, we had the opportunity of observing and documenting the May 2007 election in the Philippines and the robust Filipino election integrity movement.

Planetary Deep Democracy

Our experience convinced us that a planet-wide grassroots drive for 'deep democracy' is on the rise and deserves documentation and support to build cross-border, trans-national solidarity. This is where EON's work can make an essential and unique contribution.

Feedback from those we serve by our articles, list-serve and videos tells us our work is useful. However, given the magnitude of the challenges we collectively face as a species, our current output is not enough. We want to do more to support these crucial movements by increasing the number of completed educational tools and widening their distribution.

We can do this by upgrading our on-line presence, employing more skilled staff, and developing intern and volunteer programs (please see below). It's time for EON to make the jump to a new, higher level of effectiveness on behalf of the planet and all its species. But we can't do it without your help in generating on-going operations funding.
