Brangan chats with author/activist Dr. Helen Caldicott during a break in a London conference on nuclear power plant safety during the year 2000 rollover. Mary Beth and Jim were elected national Co-Chairs of of the Y2K WASH education campaign on nuclear power plant safety.
The assignment meant traveling to Europe in 1999 with an international group of Japanese and EU activists whose mission was to alert officials to possible computer problems at Rollover and inform them of safety safeguards.
Jim at work in London. The fact that major problems at nuclear power plants were avoided at Rollover was said by officials and the media to prove that Y2K malfunction fears were unfounded.
Y2K WASH campaigners believe their education efforts helped prevent major problems.
