We are living in a time of both converging crises AND emerging opportunities. EON is committed to examining them both with bi-nocular vision.

Only by recognizing the breakdown of existing systems, can we recognize the promise of emerging systems and join our energy to fueling their actualization. Resist the old, embrace the new. That, in a nutshell, is EON's mission.
We are grateful to have been born into an era in which, due to extreme instabilitiy, deep analysis and deep change is both necessary and possible - in short, a pregnant evolutionary moment.
We are grateful that, since we were thirty-somethings, we have increasingly understood and become engaged in some of the key issues of our time.
We are also delighted to see so many people in their 'teens and twenties 'grocking' What's Really What and getting engaged.
As we have observed in our work, and as Paul Hawkin has documented, no time in previous history have so many millions of activists, on every key issue, been active at every level, on every island group and continent.
The 'immune system of the planetary body politic' has clearly awakended to its multiple converging challenges. [ link to manyone, Hawken's Devine Unrest book and site. ] Change you don't have to make believe in is at hand.

Transition Towns - A Localized Planetarian Response
We believe two of those 'potentials for evolutionary transcendence' are embodied by the Transitions Town movement, founded by Rob Hopkins, and the Permaculture movement co-founded by David Holmgren.
Our vlog posts and DVD of their interviews are among our most popular and have helped inform and catalyze many local organizing efforts, including in our own home county, West Marin where a vital Transition movement is taking form.
MB is a co-organizer of our village Transitions group and we are documenting the regional evolution of the movement for an eventual EONdocumentary. Stay tuned....
